  • Future homeowner, Sandra, has been an Administrative Assistant in Development Services at the City of Marietta since 2014, helping to make the public’s experience with the city go smoothly. She lives in an apartment complex in Kennesaw, but is seeking a greater sense of community through homeownership. An affordable mortgage did not seem attainable but being selected to build with Habitat for Humanity changed that. Now, she’ll benefit from the financial stability of monthly mortgage payments that aren’t subject to major increases – which will enable her to retire comfortably when she’s ready. Sandra most looks forward to cooking in a sunny kitchen, hosting holiday gatherings, and has always said that when she becomes a homeowner, she would get a dog! She is thankful to the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition for using their time, talents, and gifts to make homeownership possible for her.

In Support of Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in nearly 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. and in nearly 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
