Dominique is a dedicated mother and healthcare professional serving as a Patient Tech and Phlebotomist at Emory Healthcare. Her passion for caregiving began long before her current role. The Atlanta native grew up caring for her aging grandmother and uncle, who had diabetes.
Today, Dominique, her daughter Jaleiah (age 13), her adopted niece and nephew, Jamaya (age 14) and Sage (age 10), live in an inadequate rental property in Austell. She adopted her niece and nephew to relieve them from the foster system, as they have both endured a lot, and she is hoping to provide a better life for them moving forward.
However, the home where they currently reside has many issues, including no space for the kids to enjoy outside. When asked about why she applied for Habitat’s homeownership program and what a new home would mean for her family, Dominique said, “I want long-term stability for my kids.” Throughout this journey to securing her forever home, she has maintained a posture of resilience, guided by faith. “No matter what we go through, we go through it as a family and do not give up,” she said.
