A Message From Nick Neumann

Dear Friends and Family, “When you’re in a position to have gotten so much, the gift at this point is giving back” Or as my grandfather always says – “To whom much is given, much is expected” I’ve grown up in a home with an amazing family of 7. I shared a bedroom with four of my siblings until I was 10 and then continued to share my room with at least one sibling until I was 14. I’ve known many family dinners in our kitchen and cheered for many sports teams in my family room. I never worried about a roof over my head, a comfy sofa or warm bed. It wasn’t until the fourth grade that I started to understand there are actually people in this world that don’t have a home, much less a bedroom or even a table to eat dinner around. I was studying a vocabulary list that had the word refugee and after learning what that meant, I remember going to my mom and asking if we could adopt a refugee and she asked me if I really wanted another baby in our home and I remember telling her, “No, I wanted to adopt an entire family.” Obviously, my mom didn’t get on board with us adopting an entire family that day, but as a family we did start talking about ways in which I could give back or help families that were without a home. She shared with me about an organization called Habitat for Humanity. I wanted so much to start helping to build a home right then and there. Sadly, I had to wait until I was 16. Well, the day has finally come, and I think my dream is going to be bigger than I ever imagined. The class of 2025 at Holy Innocents is going to help build an entire home from start to finish for a family. This is the very first Habitat Home ever to be built by HIES students! We are in charge of raising all the funds and then we will be in charge of breaking ground, scheduling, and actually hammering the nails to create a home for a family in need. We need to raise $120,000 before August, 2023 and my goal is to raise $3,000 of that amount. Would you be willing to help? No donation is too small, and it would mean the chance of a family to be given something that we all have been fortunate to always have. If you are interested in donating, please click the link below or feel free to email me with any questions.

Building Homes. Changing Lives.
Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta

Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta has helped families in Cobb, Douglas, and Paulding counties achieve the dream of homeownership. What started as a small group inspired by the global Habitat mission has grown into a movement—powered by people like you.

Through your support, we’ve built hundreds of homes and empowered families with stability, pride, and a place to call their own. Our model works: future homeowners help build their homes, purchase them with affordable mortgages, and create lasting change for generations to come.

As the need for affordable housing grows, so does our determination to meet it—with your help.

Thank you for being part of our story.
Together, we’re creating stronger communities—one home at a time.
