She has been married to Kelcey for almost 10 years. He has undergone health challenges that have caused him to be disabled. He does all he can at home to make Methany’s life easier. The couple has one adult daughter and two grandchildren. Their daughter helps with caregiving duties and the family currently rents a too-small townhouse in Cartersville without a yard for the grandchildren. She has tried in the past to qualify for a mortgage.
She says when she found out she was selected; she was overwhelmed to tears. “I feel like I’ve won the lottery. It is amazingly surreal and truly a blessing. I am super excited that my husband and I get to help…even if it’s just to hammer a nail or the smallest of details!”
She is most excited to be minutes from work. “Thank you for all that you do in the community for people like me,” says Methany. “You truly are God sent, and I pray that as you continue to bless others, God will bless you even more.”

In Support of Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta
Building Homes. Changing Lives.
Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta
Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta has helped families in Cobb, Douglas, and Paulding counties achieve the dream of homeownership. What started as a small group inspired by the global Habitat mission has grown into a movement—powered by people like you.
Through your support, we’ve built hundreds of homes and empowered families with stability, pride, and a place to call their own. Our model works: future homeowners help build their homes, purchase them with affordable mortgages, and create lasting change for generations to come.
As the need for affordable housing grows, so does our determination to meet it—with your help.
Thank you for being part of our story.
Together, we’re creating stronger communities—one home at a time.
